Terms

Terms of use for this website.

Short, and written to be read. This page covers the website, the published numbers and the open reference applications. It is not the contract for an engagement — that is a signed statement of work, and it takes precedence over everything here.

What the numbers on this site are.

The whole site is built on published figures, so it matters what kind of figure each one is. There are four kinds and they carry different weight.

Vendor prices are list prices on a date

Every third-party price on this site is a published list price with a link to the page we read it from and the date we read it. Vendors change prices, retire plans and quote enterprise tiers privately. A figure here is evidence of what was published on that date, not a quotation and not a promise about what you will pay.

Infrastructure figures are estimates with assumptions

The cloud run costs in Techtons are estimates for a stated reference organisation, with the assumptions written next to them. Your bill depends on your region, your commitments, your traffic and your retention. Treat them as an order of magnitude.

Build estimates are estimates

Weeks and engineer counts in Techtons are our honest read on a system of that shape. They are not a fixed-price quotation. A price we will stand behind comes from an assessment of your actual usage, in writing, with a scope attached.

The calculator is a model, not advice

The calculator multiplies numbers you supply by assumptions you can see and change. It excludes ongoing maintenance, your own change-management effort and any exit cost in your current contract, and it says so on the page. Do not use it as the sole basis for a procurement decision.

If a figure here has gone stale, tell us and we will correct it or remove it. That is a standing offer, not a formality — support@conseiltek.com.

Other companies’ names

We name the products we replace.

This site names third-party products directly, because describing them as a leading work management platform would make the arithmetic unreadable. Every product name and logo belongs to its owner. They are used here for identification and comparison only.

Conseiltek is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to any of them. Nothing on this site is a statement by those vendors, and a parity matrix is our assessment of their published capabilities rather than theirs. Where we are wrong about a product, write to us with the correction and the source and we will publish the fix.

Techtons

Apache-2.0, and what that does not include.

The 37 reference applications catalogued on this site are published as Techtons by Conseiltek, open source. The licence is generous and the guarantees are none, which is the normal arrangement for open source and is worth stating rather than implying.

The terms of the code

  • The reference applications are licensed under Apache-2.0. That licence is the whole agreement for the code: you get a broad, irrevocable, royalty-free grant, including a patent grant, and the software is provided on an “as is” basis without warranties or conditions of any kind.
  • Nothing on this site adds a warranty to that code. The published repositories are reference implementations, not a supported product, and they carry no service level, no support commitment and no security response time unless you have a separate written agreement with us.
  • A repository listed as scheduled rather than published may not exist yet. Publication dates are an intention, not a commitment, and the order can change.
  • Work we do for a client under a statement of work is governed by that statement of work and not by this page. Where the two disagree, the signed agreement wins.

Using the site

Read it, quote it with attribution, and link to it freely. Do not attempt to break it, do not use it to attack anyone else, and do not scrape it in a way that makes it slow for other people. If you want the catalogue as data rather than as pages, ask and we will point you at the JSON instead.

Nothing here is professional advice

The writing on this site, including the field notes and the calculator, is general information about a category of engineering work. It is not legal, tax, financial or procurement advice about your situation, and it does not create a client relationship. That starts with a signed agreement.

Availability

We do not promise the site is available, current or error-free, and we may change or remove any page. Security issues in the site or in a published repository go to support@conseiltek.com — the process is on the trust page.

Liability

What we are and are not responsible for.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from decisions taken on the basis of the estimates, models or writing on this website, or from your use of an open-source reference application. Nothing here limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited, including fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Our responsibility for work we actually do for you is set out in the statement of work and the master agreement for that engagement, with a stated cap and stated exclusions. That is the document to read before you sign, and we would rather negotiate it than hide behind a web page.
